How to pay vendors for your event

In order to secure a performer or vendor for your event, you must make a payment through GigSalad using one of our accepted payment methods.

Payment breakdown

The vendor will quote you their total price, including their deposit and the remaining balance. You will pay the full amount at the time of booking, plus a GigSalad service fee. We collect full payments so that we can better protect you with our Worry-Free Guarantee.

Accepted forms of payment

There are 3 possible ways to pay, depending on the booking:

  1. Credit card: You can use a valid Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express (AMEX)* card.
  2. Electronic check (eCheck): You may provide your banking info to pay by eCheck.
  3. PayPal: You can pay right away through your PayPal account or utilize their Pay Later feature to break up the payment. For bookings over $99, you can also choose to apply for PayPal Credit for a 6-month interest-free payback plan.

If you cannot pay using one of these methods, please contact us to discuss your options.

*AMEX payments are limited to $2,000 or less. If your booking total exceeds that amount, you'll need to contact us to determine how to proceed.

Canadian users: Users based in Canada may only pay with a Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit card. AMEX payments, Electronic checks, and PayPal are not available outside of the U.S. Additionally, the timing and amount of the booking may also affect which payment methods are offered at the time of checkout.

Deposit

The deposit specified by the vendor will be sent to them prior to the event. The exact payout date will be determined by the cancellation policy chosen by the vendor. If the vendor designates that the deposit is non-refundable, we'll send the payment 1-3 business days after your payment is made. If the deposit is refundable, we will hold on to the deposit until the end of their chosen cancellation window.

Balance

We will hold the balance payment and send it to the vendor after the event is completed. If the vendor is late or fails to show up at the event, you can log in and report a problem through your control panel. When this happens, we will hold the balance until we've discussed the issue with you and the vendor.

Refunds: If the vendor cancels at any point after you've secured the event and made a payment, you are protected by our Worry-Free Guarantee and will receive a full refund. If you are the one who cancels the booking, refunds will be determined by the cancellation policy set by the vendor. Read more about cancellation policies and refunds.

Frequently asked questions:

  • What if I can't afford to pay the full price upfront?

If you can't put the full balance on a credit card at the time of booking, you might consider using PayPal instead. PayPal offers a couple of Pay Later options, as well as PayPal Credit, that let you break your payment into smaller installments.

If you can't use PayPal, then you might talk to the vendor to see if they can extend the quote expiration and hold the date to give you more time to gather the money. Once you have the funds, you can come back and secure the booking with one of the other payment methods.

  • Can I get a Form W-9 from GigSalad for tax purposes?

We can send you a W-9 for any payments you've made directly through GigSalad. Just send your request to forms@gigsalad.com.
