You just booked a vendor, what's next?
Congratulations, you've just booked an amazing vendor on GigSalad! Wondering what the next steps are? We have a little advice for you to ensure your event goes according to plan.
Communicate with the vendor
Good communication is the key to a successful event. Continue to correspond with the vendor you booked regarding any details or updates. We recommend following up about a week before the event date to ensure that everyone is on the same page.
Below are a few things to keep in mind as your event approaches:
- Create a rain plan, if applicable.
- Go over directions and parking info.
- Communicate any special requests.
- Provide and request day-of contact phone numbers.
- Share any other need-to-know details.
Prepare a tip
While it is not required, it is customary (and very much appreciated!) to tip musicians, performers, and event service providers. Since tipping is not included in your GigSalad payment, we recommend that you prepare a tip beforehand. Cash or a check is a convenient way to provide a tip after the gig is completed.
The average tip for vendors and performers is 15-20%. For a band or a catering staff, it is also common to simply provide a $25 to $50 tip per person.
Depending on how the vendor has selected to be paid by GigSalad, you may be presented with an option to tip after writing a review. If the vendor is receiving their payments by PayPal, we will present you with the option to provide a tip through PayPal after you write a 4 or 5-star review.
Write a review
After the event is over, provide feedback to the vendor and potential clients by writing a review. Reviews are very important to vendors and those hiring entertainment or services. We will send you review reminders for the few weeks following the event. You may also write a review by following the directions below.
How to write a review:
Select the vendor you booked.
Click on their profile photo to be directed to their profile.
Scroll down to the review section and click Write a review.
Write your review and click Submit review.
If you already have an account, you're done! If you do not already have a GigSalad account, you'll need to provide a password to create one. We'll then send you an email with a link you must click to verify your email address and post your review. If you do not receive a verification email, contact us.
