You just booked your event, what's next?
Finding and booking the right talent for your event is an important step, but there's more to do to ensure a great experience all around. You need to maintain communication, plan ahead, and provide helpful feedback after the event.
Communicate with the provider
Great communication is the key to a successful event. Continue to correspond with the talent you booked regarding any details or updates. We recommend following up about a week before the event date to ensure everyone is on the same page.
Below are a few things to keep in mind as your event approaches:
- Create a rain plan, if applicable
- Go over directions and parking info
- Communicate any special requests
- Provide and request day-of contact phone numbers
- Share any other need-to-know details
Prepare a tip
While it is not required, it is customary (and very much appreciated!) to tip musicians, performers, and event service providers. Since tipping is not included in your GigSalad payment, we recommend preparing a tip beforehand. Cash or check are both acceptable ways to tip, but digital tips are becoming even more common. You can send a small tip through Venmo, Cash App, Facebook Messenger, or whatever service the talent prefers.
The average tip for performers and service providers is 15-20%. For a band or a catering staff, it is also common to simply provide a $25-$50 tip per person.
If the provider you've booked has connected their PayPal account to GigSalad, you may tip them through our platform. If this option is available, you'll be given a tipping prompt after submitting a 4- or 5-star review on their profile.
Write a review
After the event is over, provide helpful feedback by leaving a review on their GigSalad profile. Reviews are very important to the talent as well as other potential clients looking to book their services. We will send you review reminders for a few weeks following the event. You may also write a review by following the directions below.
How to write a review:

Log in to your account and go to your Inbox.

Select the provider you booked.

Click on their profile photo to be directed to their profile.

Scroll down to the review section and click Write a review.

Provide your feedback and click Submit review.
If you are already logged into your account, you're done!
If you're leaving a review without being connected to your GigSalad account, you'll need to provide your password. Or, if you're using a different email address for the review, provide a password to create a new account. We'll then send you an email with a link you must click to verify your email address and post your review. If you do not receive a verification email, contact us.
