Failing to show up for a gig

Not performing a booked gig or even canceling on the day of the event is considered a no-show and should be avoided at all costs. When you do this, it not only reflects negatively on yourself and GigSalad, but it also ruins someone's event.

If this does happen, you must report it to GigSalad, and you are required to return any payments you received, plus cover the cost of all service fees (yours and the event planner's).

If you must cancel, you should do so with as much notice as possible. Read more about gig cancellations.

Report your no-show

As soon as you miss your gig or know that you are going to miss it, you should notify GigSalad immediately. The best way to do this is by reporting it through your control panel within 24 hours of the event. This will put a hold on your balance payment so we can refund it to your client. If you can't or don't report it through your control panel, you can contact our Customer Happiness team instead.

Obviously, you should contact your client as well with an apology and let them know what happened. Perhaps you can reschedule rather than cancel. Either way, let them know you've notified GigSalad of what happened.

If you do not report it to us, and they do, we will reach out to you to confirm the no-show and request that you return any payments you've received up to that point and cover the service fees.

Return your payments

The Worry-Free Guarantee we promise event planners protects them in the case of a provider cancellation or no-show. This means they will receive a full refund of their payment (deposit, balance, and service fee). We require providers who do not show up to events to cover that entire amount.

The balance for a gig isn't sent to you until one to two business days after the event. If neither party notifies GigSalad about the no-show before that payment is sent, you'll be required to return those funds, the advance deposit you received, and all service fees. We will provide you with the total amount you need to return in order to continue using GigSalad.

You may return the payments and pay the service fees one of two ways:

1. PayPal: Send money to gigs@gigsalad.com. Be sure to include the client name and/or booking number (which you can find at the top of your agreement) in a note with your payment.

2. Credit card: Call us at 417-889-9909 to make a payment over the phone.

Failure to return all owed payments and service fees could result in your profile being removed from GigSalad.

Repeat violations

If you repeatedly cancel bookings at the last minute or do not show up for your gigs, we will begin holding all future payments until after events have been confirmed and may even remove your profile from GigSalad permanently. We want to ensure a positive booking experience for all our users, so we cannot have members on our site who fail to honor their agreements.

Exceptions

We know that sometimes things happen that are beyond your control. Everything from medical emergencies to simple misunderstandings can result in unfortunate cancellations. We try to be as understanding as possible of each person's situation, and in some cases, certain exceptions may be made. These exceptions are completely at GigSalad's discretion and are not promised.
