Understanding lead insights (and how to get them)

Lead insights is a powerful feature that gives you a deeper look into the leads you receive on GigSalad. This tool lets you see valuable details about your competition and how your potential client engages with other members. This information can help you refine your approach and increase your chances of securing the booking.

What you can see with insights

There are several insights you might see on your leads. We've broken down each one below, including a pro tip for how you might use that insight to your advantage. Note: The quotes and/or messages you have sent to the client are not included in any counts.

How many other members responded

This insight will tell you how many members (other than you) have responded to the lead with either a message or a quote.

If no one else has responded yet, you'll see a "Be the first to respond!" message instead. You should reply as quickly as possible when you encounter this specific insight. The first person to respond always has an advantage in closing the gig.

πŸ‘‰ Pro tip: Remember, a lead isn't dead until it's booked. Regardless of how many people have already responded, it doesn't hurt to send your own response as well. Consider it a challenge to find a way to set yourself apart from the competition.

How many members have sent quotes

This stat is the total number of members who responded with a quote, old or new. Active quotes will be a separate insight (see below). If this number differs from the active quotes number, that means some of the quotes have expired or been declined by the event planner.

If no quotes have been sent, you'll see a "Be the first to quote!" message instead. Keep an eye out for this because it can give you an edge over the competition.

πŸ‘‰ Pro tip: If you see many sent quotes but few active ones, especially when the lead is less than a week old, this can tell you that the client is actively reviewing and declining quotes. Use this insight to follow up and see if the client has any questions about your quote. You could even give them other price options or open your price to negotiation.

How many quotes are active

These are the number of quotes that can still be booked β€” meaning they have not expired or the client has not declined them yet.

πŸ‘‰ Pro tip: This is your biggest indicator of how much competition you have, which might change how you approach your quote or follow-up message. The more competition, the more you need to stand out. Try sending a message either before or after your quote with some pricing options. Let them know you're willing to negotiate or that you have different packages at different price points.

If no other members were contacted

You'll see this insight if you were the only person the event planner contacted for this particular lead. When this insight is present, no others will be since there is no other competition to report on.

πŸ‘‰ Pro tip: In most cases, if you were the only member contacted, you were probably specifically chosen by the event planner. You can confirm this by looking for the "Direct lead" tag in your inbox and on the lead itself. With no competition and possibly having already caught the planner's attention, you should prioritize these leads over others.

Origin of the lead

These aren't "insights" as much as they are simply informative tags that indicate whether the lead came from a different source than the standard leads sent directly or from GigSalad.

Lead sources you might see, if you use certain features on GigSalad, include:

  • Outside booking: These are the leads you've imported through our outside gig tool.
  • Quote widget request: These are leads received through a quote widget you've added to your personal website.

Where to find your insights

All the insights are at the top of your gig lead page. On mobile, they are in the lead snapshot above the response options. On desktop, they are at the top of the Event Info section, under the event planner's name.

How to access lead insights

Lead insights is an exclusive feature available only to paid members. If you're currently on a free plan, you won’t be able to see this data. However, upgrading your membership will unlock these insights and give you a competitive edge when responding to leads! πŸŽ‰
