How to pay vendors for your event

To secure a performer or vendor for your event, you must pay through GigSalad using one of our accepted payment methods.

Payment Breakdown

The vendor will quote you their total price, including their deposit and the remaining balance. You will pay the full amount at the time of booking, plus a GigSalad service fee. We collect full payments so we can better protect you with our Worry-Free Guarantee.

Accepted forms of payment

There are a couple of accepted forms of payment, depending on where the user is located.

U.S. users:

Users based in the United States have two payment methods to choose from.

  1. Credit card: You can use a valid Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express (AMEX)* card.
  2. PayPal: You can pay right away through your PayPal account or utilize their Pay Later feature to break up the payment. For bookings over $99, you can also choose to apply for PayPal Credit for a 6-month interest-free payback plan.

*AMEX payments are limited to $2,000 or less. If your booking total exceeds that amount, please contact us to figure out how to proceed.

Canadian users:

Users based in Canada may only pay with a Visa, Mastercard, or Discover credit card. AMEX payments and PayPal are not available outside of the U.S.

If you cannot use any of these payment methods, please get in touch with us to discuss your options.

Deposit

The deposit specified by the vendor will be sent to them prior to the event. The exact payout date will be determined by the cancellation policy chosen by the vendor. If the vendor designates that the deposit is non-refundable, we'll send the payment 1-3 business days after your payment is made. If the deposit is refundable, we will hold on to the deposit until the end of their chosen cancellation window.

Balance

We will hold the balance payment and send it to the vendor after the event is completed. If the vendor is late or fails to show up at the event, you can log in and report a problem through your control panel. When this happens, we will hold the balance until we discuss the issue with you and the vendor.

Refunds: If the vendor cancels at any point after you've secured the event and made a payment, you are protected by our Worry-Free Guarantee and will receive a full refund. If you are the one who cancels the booking, refunds will be determined by the cancellation policy set by the vendor.

Frequently asked questions:

  • What if I can't afford to pay the full price upfront?

If you can't put the full balance on a credit card at the time of booking, consider using PayPal instead. PayPal offers a couple of Pay Later options, as well as PayPal Credit, that let you break your payment into smaller installments.

If you can't use PayPal, you might talk to the vendor to see if they can extend the quote expiration and hold the date to give you more time to gather the money. Once you have the funds, you can return to the site and secure the booking with one of the other payment methods.

  • Can I get a Form W-9 from GigSalad for tax purposes?

We can send you a W-9 for any payments you've made directly through GigSalad. Just send your request to forms@gigsalad.com.
